November 2022: Horoscopes for Moderns
The last blast of the Saturn Uranus square highlighted by the November 8 eclipse. It's now or never.
“An eclipse is a physical event behind which there lies a significant spiritual reality.” — Rudolph Steiner
ECLIPSES. The cosmic gifts that keep on giving. And thrilling.
Why do eclipses fascinate?
Astrologically, the specificity and exactness of the eclipse mirror a concentration of attention and awareness within the biosphere. That’s one reason.
But more, eclipses disrupt our normal perception of the heavens. Our accustomed sky view shifts. During an eclipse, reality feels inside out. The Sun darkens or the Moon casts its own ruddy luminescence.
And the sky within? Imagine your will, your conscious self (Sun) aligned perfectly—or opposed exactly—to the rich contents of your unconscious (Moon.)
Dreams concentrate and condense during eclipse periods—the dream’s narrative becomes unavoidable and unforgettable. The opportunity to divine, to perceive intuitively, is heightened.
Keep a paper and pen on your nightstand. Take notes. The nocturnal realm is where the most cogent guidance will originate.
The November 8 solar eclipse is the equivalent of a radical clearing process. Where the dregs, the delays, and the disappointments are vacuumed out of the psyche.
The early-century occultist Rudolph Steiner had a crazy-ass theory about eclipses, and I’ll share it here because it’s so fascinating. This is from Dennis Elwell‘s stellar book Cosmic Loom:
“He said that eclipses serve as safety valves, a solar eclipse carrying out into space the evil that spreads over the earth, so that it might work its havoc in a less concentrated sphere. A lunar eclipse, on the other hand, allows evil thoughts present in the cosmos to approach those humans who are willing to be possessed by them.”
Kind of creepy. But the point here, if we move away from the goofy moralistic tone, is that eclipses shift or tilt the balance between solar and lunar properties and how we as humans align with those impressions via intention or choice, or accident.
The November eclipse pulls into place the final exhalation of the long Saturn (tradition, contraction) Uranus (renewal and release) square (a heightened struggle) that commenced last year.
You can read it like this: Whatever torsion we’ve been caught in between maintaining the status quo (at all costs) and shattering the existing matrix (at all costs) finally unravels, and we end up in uncharted terrain.
What’s it gonna be? Where are you going to land?
Here are your horoscopes for November. Note: These are not rising sign horoscopes. I fashion each overview by considering your Sun sign.
