Tonight's Aquarius full Moon sets off a T-square, ushering in the chance to step beyond the political madness we've been steeped in for the past eight years.

Everything is swinging: heaven, earth, water, fire, and the secret one slowly growing a body. —Kabir
THE ABOVE POEM BY KABIR signals the keynote of tonight’s full Moon. It’s an awesome theme to comprehend and celebrate—the mystery of human existence, as typified in the Zodiac’s fixed signs. The poem is a sort of keynote to the hidden processes that empower the making, sustaining, and eventual cessation of human life. Or that of a culture.
Where is the beginning point for personal presence? And where does it end or transform? How does the individual define a unique space within the tribe or civilization that supports him? This is the great dance between the artist and the societal structures that sustain her. Where Leo’s primary interest is the gem of the self, Aquarius provides the ‘setting’ that secures the diamond’s ability to sparkle within the human family. And finally, how are we ushered out of the parade of life, making way for who is to follow?
Today’s full Moon is what I’d call ‘electrified’ or ‘amplified’ by the T-square arrangement that brings Uranus into the mix—the Moon and Sun’s opposition will square the Promethean planet in Taurus. The intriguing quality of the astrological T-square is that it places a vortex of force in the unoccupied sign of the formation. It’s like sitting at a four-legged table, missing one of its legs. The absent leg draws inordinate attention to the table’s wobble and what might correct or balance it. That means tonight's lunation amplifies the power of the sign Scorpio—but in a peculiarly compulsive way.
We’ll most likely experience the dynamic shocks of the T-square as the Democratic convention commences tonight in Chicago. Amidst all of the political rhetoric about freedom and democracy (Aquarius) and the cavalcade of power players and celebrities (Leo), the protests (Uranus) outside of the convention will place the carnage (Scorpio) in Palestine directly into the crosshairs of awareness amidst the convention’s media-pumped hyperbole.
As this is the ‘missing’ part of the table, which I suppose you could call the DNC’s ‘platform,’ it is essential that the chaos is addressed genuinely—more than a tossed-away acknowledgment. If there’s a major kink within the DNC’s newfound joy after Biden’s walk into the sunset, it’s the Middle East’s Gordian Knot.
