I’m with you on the Christmas music, I prefer the Gregorian chant, old world choral music now as my Christmas music background listening music. I have a rather extensive collection of Christmas music from CD’s that I downloaded onto my music library on my laptop then onto my iPad and iPhone. I’m not a Spotify person, but do have a Sirius xm subscription for my car, and can listen on the app at home. I found a Holiday Pops ‘station’ that plays all that older choral music and classical Christmas music. I’ve been playing it for days now.
I too grew up in SoCA, down in the far SE corner of CA, and remember that station that played the Christmas music. My Mom was a big music person and was a huge collector of vinyl (78’s too). We had some great Christmas music playing in the house, when we decorated the tree. Frank Sinatra, Mitch Miller, Bing Crosby. My Mom was an interior designer, and she dutifully instructed me on the art of applying tinsel to the tree...strand by strand! As well as not doubling up ornaments on the branches! (In my later adult life I would go onto decorating the Christmas trees of a few select clients.)
Nice to see your little Venus is settling in. She’s a sweet looking girl.

Thanks for sharing this, I see some of my tried and true favorites on it. I keep my Christmas boundaries up until I am good and ready. We have to preserve the magic for ourselves because otherwise (as my auntie said recently) “the thrill is gone”.
Venus is positively gorgeous (and she knows it 😻)! Why she’s going through the motions of nest building is curious.... being a shelter cat I assume she’s neutered. Once she realizes she has sovereignty over the domain she may let you repo your drawers- I’d let it be for the time being. Remember, dogs have owners but cats have “staff”!
