Egos, Eggs and Omelets
So at the same time that you don't know where you are going you’re there.
You’re reading WOODRUFF. I cover the convergence of pop culture, psychology, and astrology. Join my entourage of subscribers—you’ve been missed.
IN THIS, THE SEASON OF CANCER, here’s a Cancerian reverie.
I’m embarrassed to admit I found this passage from a book I must have been reading a couple of years ago. As I often do while reading, I grab my phone and take pictures of particular passages when they seize me.
Like this one.
The ‘problem’ is that I forgot to make a notation on the image file in my Camera app, so this shall remain unattributable—for the moment. If someone out there knows who channeled this revelation, please drop me a line.
Meanwhile. Here’s how not just Cancer but all of the water signs are predisposed to roll.
“Slowly, one begins to float; one has no direction because one has stopped believing in ‘direction.’ The ego now seems largely irrelevant; it feels like a small lump of yolk in an omelette, as it were. You don't really know where you are going, but you do have the feeling that the ‘omelette’ will take care of that; it will take you wherever you are supposed to go or nowhere, as the case may be. And then one day you realize that regardless of where it takes you, the state of mind that is letting the ‘omelette’ do the work is paradoxically the place at which you were trying to arrive all along. So at the same time that you don’t know where you are going you’re there.”
Note: OK, so one of my readers, Water+Stardust, recognized the above paragraph from Morris Berman’s book Wandering God: A Study in Nomadic Spirituality. This is one of Berman’s finest productions, the third in his trilogy on the evolution of human consciousness, and it is highly recommended.
Love,

I don't know who wrote that, but Pisces George Harrison wrote in one of his songs, "If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."
Much like a motto I encountered and adopted in the ‘80s, “wherever you go, there You are!”
