I always appreciate your takes on astro theory. Suddenly it seems so simple and logical.

Agree! Chimp Crazy is a documentary that escapes definition.

Glad you'll be back on TikTok.

Tiktok is both frustrating and curious. I'm on there too, but not posted for months and no longer have the app. Currently not tempted back 😂

Do you think you’ll return when your book’s out?

I'll probably repurpose some stuff and share there. I've not thought about it hugely tbh, maybe I should start thinking 😂

It's the part in blood sacrifice of an infant for a cigarette 🚬 that really speaks to me. In recovery now, but I still feel this urge strongly 😅

I'll tell you this truth (at least from within my reality vector) -- the smoke urge never goes away. When you understand what tabacco does to the dopamine receptors you 'really' get it. At least the infants of the world will remain safe around me as I continue to ignore the flashbacks and triggers.

Timely to read 🙏 thanks for the moment of gratitude in service of your reality vector!

Drawing a conclusion from a book I’m currently reading to review, some of it may be driven by a desire by some to prove once and for all that astrology qualifies as a science—or, ironically, to defend the idea it doesn’t need to be.

It’s like trying to prove psychology is a science — perhaps behaviorism is — but it’s an art that borrows from different scientific disciplines. As does astrology.

I remember Camille Paglia noting that what Freud wrote was actually poetry, and that clicked for me.

What book are you reviewing, Liz?

Wild title. I will check this out. Would you say it's worth the investment of time. The title is compelling.

I hear you. And it’s another 2 months of politics before we get..more politics. I am now watching News National with Cuomo. I can’t do msnbc anymore.

I love watching Cuomo. Can’t stand Fox or MSNBC. Both are cult channels.

Sister Wendy! Wow, haven’t thought of her in ages. I *loved* her! She blew my mind, speaking nonchalantly and without judgment about topics I labeled off-Piste for a nun. Refreshing, razor-sharp perception, witty, original insights, fearless in her eye and direct in her understanding, all while emanating the palpable rapture she experienced as her tractor-beam gaze took in every detail. She went way beyond what was seen and made love with the unseen - right there on camera. She could lay bare the essence of the artist and shamelessly disrobe their intention as only lovers can. Shroud all that passion with a black habit and encase it in a diminutive, female contemplative who in no way fit society’s idea of “attractive” and whoa - what an epiphany! Not unlike astrology. So many casual passersby ignore, judge, misunderstand, even mock because a first (or second) glance gives no hint. But lift the lid and look underneath: who-wee baby, what a glorious, colorful, multi focal lens through which to see oneself. Thanks for the smile and stirring my memory of a woman whose hidden gifts were unexpected and wonderful!

If you can ever locate it -- maybe on YouTube University -- the interview between Wendy and Bill Moyers is a wonderful set of revelations. An all time fave of mine.

I found it (on YouTube)! Wow, how much more does her wisdom stun me now at 67 than when I first watched the series on PBS at 37. Poor Bill, he just couldn’t keep up with her unfettered spirit and insight. Damn, now I gotta find that series and watch it again… (mumbling as I rummage through a box of DVDs.)

It could have done with better editing, but I have an ARC, so don't know if it's the finished product. I enjoyed the history that mainly makes up the first part. It's definitely more for the knowledgeable rather than for popular reading.

Brill and refreshing and just such great fucking writing - as ever, Frederick. (What is the painting?) During the 2016 primary cycle an astro-meteorologist I follow off-handedly predicted that probable snowfall on the day of the Iowa caucus would be bad for turnout. I asked how TF he knew that, and he said precipitation is more likely on a new and (I think) first quarter moon. He was correct about that particular day, and though I haven't made a formal study of it, it seems to be a theory that holds water, so to speak.

I always list attributions at the bottom of the post for whatever image opens the article. That's a Matisse from 1922.

Interesting re 'real' astro-meteorology -- I've never studied it. I was trying to convey an idea about astrology that most people relate to, as we seem obsessed with weather forecasting. It's my go-to explanation when talking to people who are confused as to how or why astrology 'works.'

huh, for some reason I don't readily see replies on substack these days, but could be general overwhelm -- but yes, I was surprised about the literal meteorological astrology but found it fascinating... And as good an analogy as any, on a scaled (way) down level.

After numerous years of therapy -and even more of astrology - I finally got around to - just completed - and published my autobio. In retrospect, I'm wondering if titling it "Scorpio x 10" may frighten off potential readers. I think I've noticed a sort of 'cringe factor' when I've shared the title but I guess that's good in a way? Or does Scorpio automatically mean back off?

If I can publish a book titled I Love You Jeffrey Dahmer I don’t think you’ll have any issues with your title. My Moon and Saturn in ♏️🫡

In fact when my cast partners did marketing research for running ads on FB the highest engagement came from any post mentioning Scorpio. So there’s THAT.

Congrats on finishing your book, V.! No small feat!

So funny! I'm feeling more at ease. Much appreciated.

(It's actually my 4th book but my very saintly publishers wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole! So funny. They were all over how I healed but they sure didn't want to hear why I'd had to!)
